Ok its been a while since I last posted. I had a little financial emergency and I have to suspend my internet affiliate marketing efforts for a while. I need a make money now approach. I think I will start by offering article writing and link building services. I hope to make between $500-$1000 per month extra doing this. I am also looking at doing some offline local business networking to see if I can build up a few clients. I am using Jim Cockrum’s offline program for that. I will definitely be back to affiliate marketing as soon as possible. I will keep updating this blog as long as I am doing internet marketing of some sort.

Ok, so I made an ooopsie, I think. I am currently building my first website with the intent of making money(wow that feels good to say!). The problem comes with how I went about choosing a name for the site. I did my market and keyword research and I found that one of the primary keywords was available and I just up and bought it right away. I was so excited that it was available, I forgot one step I think is mandatory before plunking down your hard earned money. What is that you say?? I didn’t properly research what I could sell on my site to make money. I didn’t know if there were enough affiliate products available to make the blog profitable. As it turned out, I found only one product that was not an Amazon affiliate book or product. Not sure if this site will make much money, but the learning experience is terrific. What do you think??

Here is a quick history of where I have been in this crazy world of affiliate marketing. I started, like many, by taking the Thirty Day Challenge in early 2009. However, I used the free website that they offered and got no traffic because it had been banned. Since I did not know this at the time, I got frustrated with it and put it aside. Next, I tried to look through the Warrior Forum. Wow, what a minefield that place has become. I did not know what to do or who to listen too. There are tons of people on that site who love to give advice. Ultimately, I found myself chasing threads, buying ebooks and systems, asking for advice(and getting some) and generally just being confused. I describe the Warrior Forum as a big pile of stinking poo filled with diamonds. Eventually, I gravitated back to Ed Dale. And thru Ed Dale I found two ladies that have become my mentors. They are Lynn Terry and Michelle MacPhearson. Both of these ladies are highly successful affiliate marketers. I will talk more about why I selected these two in a later post.
So now I am at a point where the keyword for me is Action! I have been muddling about and, truth be told, I have learned alot. But now is the time to take what I have learned and go make some money. I am working on my first website and it should be live this week. It won’t be a huge moneymaker but I need to get moving so I can learn. My plan is to build 10 to 15 websites in the next month or so, and then reevaluate where I am at regarding traffic and sales. Can’t Wait!

Hi,
My name is Tom and this website is my first. I am using this site to document my voyage through the minefield that is Internet and Affiliate Marketing. I am not experienced in any way on the internet. I am a true novice, or newbie as it is often described. I have spent over a year watching from the sidelines and looking at the best way to make some money. I have chosen Affiliate Marketing as the best way to start. I will try to be as open and honest as I can about my frustrations, failures, workloads and (hopefully) my ultimate successes. I will share my thoughts on the training, products, tools and services available in for Internet Marketers that are specifically designed for affiliate marketing. I truly hope you make the journey along with me.
