My first big oops, not sure if it is fatal

June 6th, 2010Posted by Tom

Ok, so I made an ooopsie, I think.  I am currently building my first website with the intent of making money(wow that feels good to say!).  The problem comes with how I went about choosing a name for the site.  I did my market and keyword research and I found that one of the primary keywords was available and I just up and bought it right away.  I was so excited that it was available, I forgot one step I think is mandatory before plunking down your hard earned money.  What is that you say??  I didn’t properly research what I could sell on my site to make money.  I didn’t know if there were enough affiliate products available to make the blog profitable.   As it turned out, I found only one product that was not an Amazon affiliate book or product.  Not sure if this site will make much money, but the learning experience is terrific.  What do you think??

Hey Tom, decide who your audience/market is and then choose affiliate products that solve their problems. According to your header it looks like you’d be selling some eBooks or courses on affiliate marketing. See you in Lynn’s forum.

Thanks Meg, I am just starting this blog and its not really meant to be monetized just yet. I am using it to document my journey for now. Later I will be updating the whole thing as a more focused affiliate marketing site.
